Recent Work

For the last six years, I have worked primarily in digital marketing for Scottish tourism organisations/businesses. Below are some examples of my recent work. 

Campaign
Dark Skies Start Here

I managed the Dark Skies Campaign for Visit South West Scotland and the South of Scotland Destination Alliance which was designed to raise awareness of the dark sky tourism offering in the South of Scotland.

 

The campaign required sourcing of funding, campaign planning, content development, paid and organic social media, digital advertising and influencer & PR.

​

The spend on the campaign was £72k with targets set by VisitScotland including 1.5m reach (5.5m achieved) and 78k click throughs (130k achieved).

Printed Collateral
SWC300 Route Map

The South West Coastal 300 is a driving route in south west Scotland. It is a tourism brand I have been heavily involved in promoting since 2019.

​

The success of the SWC300 route has been such that there is strong demand from the tourism industry across the south west of Scotland for printed assets to support promotion of the route.

​

As a result, I have recently managed the full redesign, reprint and distribution of a brand new SWC300 Route Map. The new map has been very positively received by the industry and demand for stock has extended beyond the region.

Influencer Visits

I have managed lots of social media influencer collaborations. One example was with Macca Sherifi who produces the vlog An Adventurous World. I brought him in for the campaign to promote the SWC300. His vlog generated over 127k views across Facebook and YouTube.

Blackaddie House Hotel

I created a new website for Blackaddie House Hotel. The aim was to improve online visibility of the business. 

​

In first 4 months after launch, Google impressions increased by 75% and Google Search traffic increased by 25%.Overall traffic to the site increased by 72% in the first year.

​

I improved user experience on site, by increasing site speed, improving signposting, content, content structure and user flow.

Caubet Wines

I created two simple websites for Caubet Wines, an Irish Wine Distributor and Retailer (The Winery). The remit was to create two websites that would make the businesses easy to find, would clearly communicate their brand messaging and would be simple for the business owners to update.

​

The organically generated traffic to the websites has increased steadily YOY and in the last 12 months increased by 21%

Social Media
Scotland Starts Here

I have run the Scotland Starts Here social media feeds since June 2022. The primary feed is on Facebook and year on year from 2022 to 2023 organic reach increased 400% to over 1.2 million and content interactions increased 80% to over 80k.
